A bit about me

I’m Julie Parys — a UX/UI designer and digital consultant based in the Isle of Man, with over 25 years’ experience helping organisations turn complex ideas into exceptional digital experiences across websites and digital products.

Through my consultancy Arts Interactive Limited, I work with clients across the Isle of Man, the UK, and internationally — from ambitious startups to established organisations in finance, technology, and the creative sectors. I’m drawn to the complicated ones. The projects where the brief is hard, the stakes are real, and the design has to do serious work.

How I work

I’m strategy-first. Before anything is designed, I want to understand the goal, the audience, and the problem worth solving. That means research, clarity of thinking, and asking the questions others sometimes skip.
I’m also collaborative and detail-obsessed in equal measure — which sounds contradictory but in practice means I work closely with clients throughout, and I sweat every detail of the finished product. Good enough has never been good enough.

My work spans digital strategy, UX/UI design, web design and build, branding and visual identity, AI-enhanced experiences, and emerging technologies. I’ve delivered projects across financial services, technology, government, gaming, environmental and creative sectors — including complex regulated product work such as UX/UI design for a GBP stablecoin, one of the first regulated stablecoins in the British Isles.

Design, for me, is about turning complexity into clarity.

Don’t worry, I’ve got you covered!

Built on experience

I’ve been fortunate to work with some exceptional organisations over the years — the BBC, AXA, and Eurocontrol among them — and that breadth of experience across sectors and scales has shaped how I think about every design problem.
The Isle of Man has been home base for many years, and I’m proud to work with organisations here who are building genuinely world-class products and services. The island’s financial and technology sectors in particular are doing work that deserves design thinking at the highest level — and that’s what I aim to bring to every project.
Beyond client work, I’m increasingly preoccupied with the frontier questions: how humans interact with AI, how cognitive behaviours shape digital experience, and where technology, creativity and human consciousness are heading. These aren’t abstract interests — they feed directly into how I approach every project.

I also believe strongly in design as a force for good. I’ve supported conservation and environmental organisations including Manx BirdLife, because the Isle of Man’s natural environment is something worth protecting.

A career built on curiosity

Recognised in the industry

I’ve been a BAFTA member since 2000 — originally for graphics and ident work — and a long-standing member of BIMA, the UK’s leading voice in digital and technology. I’ve been honoured to serve as a BIMA100 judge in both 2025 and 2026, recognising the most influential people shaping the future of digital and tech in the UK.

What clients say

“Julie didn’t just deliver a website; she created a distinctive brand presence and guided us through each decision with professionalism and vision. I would unequivocally recommend Julie to anyone seeking not just technical excellence, but a partner who brings creativity and strategic flair to every aspect of digital design.”

— Roísín Clarke, Director, Screen Isle of Man

Outside the studio

You’ll find me practising tai chi or yoga, playing the violin, or out somewhere on this beautiful island watching wildlife. The discipline, patience and attention to detail those things demand? Turns out they’re not so different from good design.
